Our Story

 

We’ve been creating original and scrumptious hampers for over fifteen years. What began as a simple idea in 2010—when Jonathan Orchard (Founder) and his wife Jo began making and personally delivering handmade hampers to thank clients of Jonathan’s marketing business—quickly grew into something much bigger.

Each year, the couple would carefully curate hampers using local produce from across the UK, from Cambridge to Norfolk, Cornwall and beyond. What started as a thoughtful gesture soon caught attention. Clients began asking if they could order hampers for their own teams, customers, family and friends. Word spread, and demand grew naturally.

In 2019, Jonathan and Jo decided to give their growing venture a name: The Cambridge Hamper Company. Within the first six months of trading, their hampers had been delivered to over 25 countries.

Since then, the journey has continued to evolve. In 2023, we worked alongside NHS Cambridge University Hospitals to create and deliver bespoke Christmas hampers. That same year, our Coronation Hamper was recognised by Red magazine as one of the best Coronation gifts available. In 2024, we partnered with The Jockey Club and Huntingdon Racecourse to present hampers to winning owners throughout the racing season.

Today, we continue to collaborate with local artisans, producers and manufacturers to create distinctive gift hampers that celebrate the very best of the UK. Our doors are open to individuals, businesses and retail partners, and we offer tailored services to support a wide range of gifting needs.
